The Minute Man National Park give you the history of the first battle of the American Revolution. It is easy to visit if you got a car and free so you can just go during daylight hours.

A very nice drive in New Hampshire is around the pretty Lake Winnipesaukee. This is a good place to spend a day or more if you got the time.

One of the best places to observe the foilage is along the amazing Kancamagus Highway on the south side of the White Mountains in New Hampshire.
