The Sigurds carvings

A little outside the city of Eskildstuna in Sweden you find a little collection of stones called Sigurdsristingen. Back in the Viking age these stones were used for carving the story of Sigurd the Dragon slayer. The story of Sigurd killing the dragon was told many times in the Icelandic Sagas the old Beowulf story of the ancient Norse tradition.

The carvings is easy to find next to a little country road so you can just drive to the parking lot and put your car and walk across the road where you will find the stones with the carvings on them.

It is free to go and look at the carvings so if you are in the area it is certainly worth going here to see the old carvings and look at the old story of Sigurd.
