On the small island of Moskenesøya we drive along the main highway on the island we reach the small village of Hamnøy were we drive away from the main island on onto a series of small islands before we get back to Moskenesøya a bit before Reine.
The drive through these tiny islands are very nice with several small villages which has some old traditional fishing houses build out on stilts in the water. the houses are located at small bays with tiny harbors where the fishing boats can stay on the east side of the island safely tucked away from the strong waves which will come on the west side of the island during the strong winter storms on the north Atlantic.

We stop a few places where it is possible to take pictures of the small villages. One place there is a little shop which is focused on fish. Outside the shop is a large old truck parked with a lot of dried fish on the back. There are also a lot of giant fish heads on display and you can go and shop and eat at the shop.
It looks like you’ve travelled back in time!

Yes this style of building date back almost a thousand years. Though back then they didn’t paint the houses.
