The Pink Christmas market lives up to its name – it is very pink for sure. It is a small market but the pink colours make it stand out compared to the other markets going on during December. The market supposedly is target toward gays and lesbians but when we went I had the impression there was more heterosexual people visiting than actual LGBT.

The market is located on a small square and the stalls are ordered along the edge of the square leaving a fairly big area in the middle where you can stay and look at the stage which is the center piece of the market.

The market is small compared to the other Christmas markets and there are only a low number of shops selling to the visitors. So this probably isn’t the place you will spend the most time – but the pink colours make it a very different market to visit compared with every other Christmas market in Munich. The colours really come out after dark – so there is no point in getting here before dark. The market doesn’t open before 4 anyways.

You can reach the Pink Christmas market by taking the U-bahn to Sendlinger Tor and the walk the short distance along the Thalkirchner Strasse to the Glockenbachviertel. If you haven’t got enough Christmas market at Pink Christmas market there is a small and more traditional Christmas market going on at the Sendlinger Tor.
