Driving along the lake

We leave Rättvik and drive out in the lake area which was created by a meteor impact long ago. There are many lakes and unfortunately the main road is taking us a bit away from the lake – but we choose to drive on a smaller a smaller road to have a little look at the scenic road down at the shore.

Unfortunately this only helps a little bit since the lake shore seems to be blocked by a lot of houses the locals has built to take advantage of the lake view for their holiday room or their all year room.

We follow the road a little inland until we reach a small village which seems to be a bit of a local holiday center with a couple of hotels right in the middle and a few other buildings serving the tourist who come here to enjoy the lake in the summertime. Right now in the fall the area looks pretty abandon with hardly anybody going to visit the area.
