Spread across northern Norway there are several small abandon village. Some of these have been preserved as outdoor museums around the area. We drive north of Narvik and just next to the road we spot another of these old villages and decide to stop for a bit and have a look around the place.

The area is free to enter so we just park the car and have a look around. There is nobody else stopping while we are here so we can just walk around as we please and see the old buildings. The buildings are old farm buildings many with grassy roof. There are both some residential buildings and some old barns so it gives a bit of an impression of what the Norwegian country side looked like a century or so ago.

Outside the buildings are some old farm equipment which looks like it has just been left behind when the buildings were abandon some years ago.
The tent seems a bit of a weirdo, doesn’t it?

A bit. I think it might be a sami tent.

Just the sort of place I would want to stop and take photos if I came across it as you did 🙂

Yes it was a nice short stop to break the journey. Fun to see something for a quick visit and then just carry on after.
